Job Title: Senior Lead,Technology Solution Delivery (FTC until end of 2025)

Team: Technology Strategy & Transformation

Reports To: Director of Technology Strategy &Transformation

Contract Length: Fixed term contract until 31st December 2025

Grade: P6

Location: Any approved Save the Children International office location.

Time Zone (that the role holder must be available to work in): Europe, WCA, ESA, MENAEE Time Zones (UTC/GMT + / - 3 hours)

Right to Work: The successful candidate must possess the unrestricted right to work in their current or preferred location for the duration of employment.

Language Requirements: English

International Travel Requirements: up to 10%

Team purpose

Purpose of the team is to lead on the strategic management and development of IT applications used across SCA. The team will be key in defining the IT strategy including defining priority developments and improvements . The team will be ultimately accountable for the associated planning in partnership with the wider strategy process and ensuring IT delivery is in line with our IT Architecture and maxmises value from investments aimed at enabling our organisation to achieve impact for children.

 

Role purpose

The purpose of the role is to support the Director of Technology Strategy and Transformation to effectively oversee the delivery of technology changes including scoping, resourcing, design and implementation. This will be a critical role to ensure the effective ongoing management and improvement of the Technology roadmap across SDI/SCA
 


Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead the creation of the rolling 3-year roadmap for a given portfolio, collaborating effectively with business and technical stakeholders to align on priority and sequencing, ensuring all demands are scoped, sized, budgeted, and planned.
  • Oversee the delivery of technology changes by mobilising resources, ensuring accurate estimation, and maintaining communication with demand owners regarding resourcing and scheduling, while identifying mitigating options and managing expectations.
  • Provide assurance of adherence to the Project Delivery Lifecycle, overseeing the availability of necessary resources for requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment, and ensuring successful project completion.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing delivery performance against the roadmap, enhancing processes to increase efficiency and quality, and fostering innovation and cost-effectiveness in technology change delivery.
  • Champion capacity building within the technology function by coaching staff on delivery methodologies, supporting training initiatives, and participating in onboarding to install a strong foundation of SCI's delivery practices.
  • Ensure inclusive leadership by fostering an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion through respectful and open cultural interactions, and promoting transparent and consistent DEI-driven decision-making .


Experience and Skills

Essential

  1. Proficient experience in creating and managing a multi-year roadmap for technology portfolios in collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders that align with organisational goals, priorities and sequencing.
  2. Extensive experience in estimating and mobilising large-scale technology projects. Proven track record in resource planning and management, delivering technology projects on time and within budget.
  3. Extensive experience in overseeing all phases of project delivery including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  4. Competence in applying structured project management methods and frameworks and ensuring adherence to the Project Delivery Lifecycle especially within a large and diverse organisation.
  5. Extensive/substantial experience in leading complex technology projects from inception to completion within budget and on schedule.  
  6. Familiarity with a variety of project management tools and software.
  7. Considerable experience in engaging and managing diverse stakeholder groups to achieve consensus and alignment with ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both business and technical stakeholders.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in translating technical requirements for business stakeholders.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Relevant certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, Prince2), Agile methodologies (e.g., ScrumMaster, Agile Certified Practitioner), or specific technologies related to the role.

Desirable

  • Continuous professional development in technology management and leadership through courses or workshops.
  • ITIL certification or other IT service management qualifications are advantageous.
